Traditional procurement drives risk.

Counterparty Risk Management mitigates reputational risk.

Traditional procurement tends to focus on the intuitive parameters, such as price, payment terms and delivery times & terms.

Today, companies start to recognize supplier reputational risk as more important, as the power of traditional and social media is increasing. A supplier that does not meet its obligations toward society, may turn out to become a reputational risk for the company. Examples of such situations are, obviously, fraud and economic crime, but also trafficking, environmental crime and use of child labour, etc.

Capital in Motion has recently implemented a highly comprehensive model for consolidating supplier risk data from various external sources. This data has then been added to the main procurement monitoring workflow. As a result, our clients have been able to proactively take action in cases where their suppliers for one reason or another do not anymore meet ethical standards.
